A tracking number that has not moved is a reason to check the order, not proof that the seller is a scammer. The important distinction is between an ordinary delay, a claim supported only by a screenshot, and a request to leave Vinted or enter payment details elsewhere.
The cover and scene images are illustrations, not actual listings, product screenshots or transaction evidence.
This guide focuses on buyers facing suspicious shipping information. If you are a seller answering a delivered-but-empty claim, use the empty-parcel evidence guide.
Check the order before trusting a shipping story
Open Vinted directly and read the shipping method, tracking and delivery estimate in the order. If the seller sends a courier link, open the carrier's known website or app yourself and enter the tracking reference there. Compare the events with the order instead of accepting a screenshot as the entire record.
A postage-label image alone cannot show that the carrier received the parcel or what was inside it. A real tracking record is useful, but it also does not authenticate the purchased item. Record the discrepancy you can demonstrate without filling the gaps with a theory.

| What you see | What it establishes | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| No recent tracking event | The displayed status has not changed | Read the order's estimate and delayed-parcel instructions |
| A seller's label screenshot | An image was supplied | Compare it with the order and carrier record |
| “Delivered” but no parcel received | A delivery event conflicts with your experience | Use the order's issue/support route promptly |
| A message asking for a separate payment or card details | A request outside the normal purchase flow | Stop and follow the phishing guidance below |
Custom shipping and delays are not the same as fraud
Available shipping methods vary by market, item and listing. Vinted's UK bundle guidance still refers to older listings with custom shipping. A label or shipping-method name by itself is not a fraud finding.
Vinted's UK delayed-parcel guidance distinguishes integrated shipping from custom shipping. It tells buyers to use the dates in the order and describes different waiting periods before a parcel is treated as lost or delivered. Pro orders also have a separate process. Do not calculate a dispute deadline from the day you paid or from another buyer's screenshot.
If the delivery status conflicts with what happened, save the record and contact support through the order. If there is only a delay, follow that order's delivery process. Neither situation requires trusting an external “release your parcel” payment page.
Warning signs that deserve a closer look
Pressure to act immediately, copied-looking photos and a story that changes when you ask a precise question are reasons to pause. A low price or a new account alone is not proof of deception.
Before paying, ask for the information that would settle your particular doubt: an actual item photo, the model or a clarification of the contents. Keep the exchange on Vinted. The misleading-listing guide covers contradictions between a title, description and set photograph.
Do not treat search filters as scam detection. A word exclusion may hide a listing that says “replica”, but a dishonest listing can omit that word. Seller location, ratings and a clean search result do not certify safety.
If you have already paid
Take screenshots of the listing, order status, relevant messages and carrier record while they are available. Record when each was captured. Keep addresses, tracking details and other personal information private.
For a UK purchase from a standard member, the refund-request period begins when Vinted notifies you that the order should have arrived or seems lost. Use the issue control shown in your order and follow its deadline. A chat message to the seller is not a substitute for opening the formal issue. The Buyer Protection guide explains the two-calendar-day window and its scope.
Describe what you know: “The order shows delivered, but I have not received it; these are the tracking events.” Ask support to investigate the mismatch. A clear report is more useful than accusing someone on the strength of a slow scan.
If you entered details on an outside page
This needs a separate response from a parcel complaint. Vinted's phishing guidance covers fake emails, messages, QR codes and pages that imitate its service.
Contact your bank or card provider promptly if payment details or money were exposed, using its trusted app or contact details. Secure any affected account through the genuine service, and report the message to Vinted. Do not use the contact number or recovery link supplied in the suspicious message.
Sellers can encounter a version that claims a payment is waiting and asks them to follow a link or scan a buyer-supplied code to receive it. Check the order directly in Vinted. This warning concerns unsolicited payment instructions, not genuine carrier drop-off codes supplied through your order.
Keep the claim proportionate to the evidence
Keep three questions separate: Has the parcel moved? Does the order need a formal issue report? Have account or payment details been exposed? Each points to a different next action. Preserve the record, use the official route and avoid calling a delay fraud before the evidence supports that conclusion.
